STEEL Program

"When we invest in women and girls, we are investing in those who uplift everyone else.” – Melinda Gates
The Pittsburgh Steel City Selects Girls Hockey Association proudly launched the PSCS Girls’ STEEL program on March 30, 2009. From the very beginning, our mission has been to nurture and empower female athletes for future endeavors at higher levels, including collegiate teams. We strive to lay a robust foundation that promotes self-confidence, self-esteem, teamwork, and leadership among young women. These qualities are essential not only on the ice but also off it, creating a lifelong blueprint for success. We are thrilled to collaborate with Koppers to further enhance the STEEL program.

As part of the STEEL program, we will work alongside local speakers and experts to underscore leadership development, teamwork, mentorship (featuring insights from former PSCS players), and to delve into underrepresented career fields such as STEM and public service, along with other areas of interest.
